Q&A Queen asked:

OK let’s say this is day one of my mission to improve my credit score. That involves getting my bills paid on time. How long before my credit score reflects my payment status and improves?

Thanks to all who answer. :)
Thank you, ifetter and Nobody. That’s what I was hoping. Now a secondary question if you please. If I know derogatory accounts stay on teh books for 7 years. But is that 7 years from date opened or from time of closing?

(TxT) asked:

If someone has a credit score of 750 and gets sent to collections what will their credit score look like? I want a numerical answer and not one of those “it stays on there 7 years” responses. I know that once you pay it off you can dispute it, how do you go about doing that?

Mia J asked:

I would like to apply for the card, and I already know what my credit score is, but if I know ahead of time what score is required to get the card, then if my score is not high enough I don’t have to have that inquiry on my report and lower my score.

Advisory Service asked:

I have a $200 credit card and paying a monthly $15 plus the 12% APR. How much credit points does it give me each month?

What is the best way to get a quick credit score of 750 within a year?

Will getting a credit card with $10,000 limit and pay the 12% APR and monthly payment for it? How much credit score points will it give me for it?

I have a tremendous amount of bad debt. Almost 2000 dollars. If I were to pay it all off to 0 would it raise my score or just keep it from getting lower? I have no intention to EVER EVER EVER have another credit card. my credit score is in the low 500s what will happen if I pay off all debt and do nothing to raise my score?

Some I get additional credit cards- don’t worry I have always used my credit cards only to pay for gas. I always make all of my monthly payments on time. What are other ways I can quickly improve my credit score?

I keep seeing these ads on websites to check my score but I’m afraid it’s a scam or spamming tactic. Is there a right way to check your credit score? Are those ads legit? Are they really free?
