Dr. Rockso asked:
I think my credit score is funked up. I used to own a house and I missed a payment or two when I was laid off from my job. I sold it and I paid off all my credit cards. I recently applied for a credit card and was denied.

I want to get my credit score up a little more, but I’m not sure what would be more beneficial. Pay off my auto loan completely? Or do I pay down some of my credit cards with high limits? Which is the best option to improve my credit score? Also if I pay down some of my credit cards will my limits get reduced?

I have requested and received free credit reports from all the 3 credit agencies, but none of the reports include a credit score. Are they required to send you your score. I did see a link on one of the sites that asked for $12 to get my credit score and not just the credit history.

I am 20, and according to Experian, my credit score is 712. According to Equifax & TransUnion, my credit score is 700. What is the minimum score required to get that type of card. Also, what is the credit score required to get a Amazon Store Card?
I already have a credit monitoring program. I don’t need any others. I just want my question answered.

Lynn asked:
Is it possible to have a great credit score with loans only and no credit cards? I have bank loans for cars and personal loans but due to my inability to control spending on credit cards I don’t use them anymore. In fact, I am afraid of them…..Is not the choice to not use them good credit management?

Thank you, in advance, for your time and knowledge!
To Clarify:
I want my credit score to be no lower than the middle 700′s using only loans. Is this possible?
My last loan was for 11,000 and was paid off in full, with no late payments on 09/2006

say you are in good staying, never was late. always payed the balance. but you have too many credit cards let’s say. so when you cancel that credit card. what happens to your credit score? Does your credit limit you had for that card get erased from the records? after all those years of building the credit limit to help the credit score. what happens to it? and what happens to your score? i’m just curious.
