I am working on my credit and should have it up enough in a couple of months to buy a new car. What should my goal be to get my score up to before I actually go to the lot and have Honda or GM run my credit? I am wanting to spend about 25,000 after my trade in. My gross pay per month is about 3,000 – 4,000.

I am looking at around $6,000 vehicle. No money down. Credit score in the mid 400′s. Is it doable? What down payment would I need?
I would be able to save a down payment. The problem is that my car I have now is on it’s last legs. I am saving until it breaks completely but that could be any day. I am unsure how much I will have saved by the time it gives out. Hopefully the full amount. Wish me luck!
Thanks guy. I’m coming up on two years with State Farm which is a really stable job. I also have an apt, utilities, phone, internet and one credit card all in good standing for about 1yr. All the bad stuff was when I was younger and before I got this job.

I’m in the market to buy another car. Currently driving a 2001 Lexus RX300 and the new has worn off. Was wondering if it was possible to lease a car with a less than perfect FICO score of 652. The only reason why I was considering is because I want to buy at least a 2003-4 BMW X5 but I prefer a brand new one but I don’t have the cash or dare need a car payment that high for a 45k vehicle! I’ve heard leases are generally only approved for people with great credit but I have heard of people with less than perfect credit leasing cars but I was wondering approx. with what score?
